Description

The backorder summary report shows:

• the number of sales orders that have not yet had any items shipped if there is any

• the number of sales orders that have already had few shipments and are still open

• the number of days that the sales order has been open

This information helps you identify the number of days sales orders remain open waiting for the shipment of backordered items.

For example, the report may show that (check the image)

• you have 162 open sales orders for which you have already made one shipment, that is still open from 200 to 388 days after sales order entry
• you have 1 sales order for which you have  made 2 shipments but it is still open for more 600 days after the sales order entry

This can help you identify the problems in your supply line or any other department which is involved with purchasing.

This report also lets you change the “Days Open” bucket range so you can make this report suitable for your own business.
